Find a lender and loan program that meets your needs. Get Pre-Qualified and obtain a pre-approval letter from your lender. Seller's like to see that you are qualified when you make the offer the letter makes your offer more attractive.
Determine which neighborhood best matches your needs and identify features you would like to have in your home.
Determine your timing. When would you like to make the purchase. Keep in mind that you may not get the first offer you make and there may be a counteroffer process. The length of escrow could be 45 to 60 days and sometimes there are delays in repair work and loan funding.
Get your Broker involved early with a Buyer-Agent agreement.
Buyer Agents work for you. Having an agent representing your side of the transaction will give you the best commitment and assurance that someone is actively involved in your looking out for your interests.
